Vanessa Barzasi

Vanessa has always been fascinated by the ocean and what lies beneath its surface.
Her curiosity led her to study economics, finance, and anthropology, giving her a unique interdisciplinary perspective on how technology, business, and society shape the future. Rather than following a conventional career path, she chose to tackle one of the world's most complex challenges: transforming environmental data into actionable intelligence.
As Co-Founder and CEO of BioBright, Vanessa leads the company's strategy, partnerships, and commercial growth, connecting science, engineering, and industry to accelerate the adoption of real-time environmental monitoring.
She believes that better data leads to better decisions and that making the invisible visible is the key to building cleaner, safer, and more resilient industries.
Ayrton Barzasi
Co-Founder, CTO & CSO
Ayrton has always been curious about the world and how it works, with a particular fascination for biology and technology.
From an early age, he wanted to become an inventor by building things that could make the world better and advance human technologies. His background in biology, with a focus on genetics and cell science, taught him how to understand biological systems from the ground up, while developing an interdisciplinary mindset that combines knowledge from biology, engineering, technology and other fields.
At BioBright, he leads the scientific and technological development, bringing together this interdisciplinary approach and inventive mindset to understand and protect one of our planet’s most valuable resources: the oceans.
Ayrton’s work is driven by a clear motto: Per Audacia ad Astra ("Through boldness to the stars"). Leading R&D at BioBright like a deep-space expedition, Ayrton proves that with daring innovation, no horizon is out of reach.
